CRETE Trainees List of Sample Activities

Students or faculty who have participated in a school conflict management training through the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, a CRETE training or taken a course in a CRETE partner institution may have access to the Conflict Resolution in Education K-8 or 7-12 Resource Guides provided by the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management. Below is a list of activities taken from the Guides which help develop the skills of conflict management for students. They were selected to be taught in this order as the skills build on one another… moving from understanding conflict, to how emotions influence conflict, to effective communication skills, to problem solving. Just as one needs to learn to add and subtract before we teach algebra or calculus, one needs to teach conflict management skills in a certain order as they build on one another. The lessons below are sample activities that can be used as you work to infuse CRE into the classroom.
